People Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve all stages of the employee lifecycle including onboarding and offboarding
• Define, document, and improve people operations processes and best practices
• Lead people team initiatives such as company events, employee experience programs, and policy rollouts
• Implement automation efforts using WRITER's own AI platform to streamline workflows
• Administer and optimize HRIS and people tooling while building operational dashboards
• Manage compliance posture across federal, state, and local employment regulations
• Partner with employees and legal counsel to manage visa processing and global mobility
• Navigate sensitive employee relations matters with empathy and professionalism

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in human resources or people operations, ideally in high-growth tech
• Proven ability to design and implement processes from scratch
• Strong project management and systems-thinking mindset
• Experience with people analytics and building dashboards
• Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms
• Deep knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
• High emotional and social intelligence
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification
• Track record of using AI and automation tools to improve workflow efficiency
• Experience building databases or improving HR operational infrastructure
