People Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for all California-based employees and on-site leaders
• Own employee relations end-to-end, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and data integrity within Rippling
• Maintain a consistent onsite presence by visiting assigned properties at least once per week
• Ensure strict compliance with California-specific federal, state, and local employment laws
• Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to support sourcing and coordination for California front-line roles

Requirements

• 4–6 years of HR/People experience, ideally in multi-site, property management, or hospitality environments
• Strong working knowledge of California employment law
• Ability to travel to local properties weekly to support on-site leaders and engage employees
• Highly organized with a "see it, own it, fix it" mindset and the ability to operate autonomously
• Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between local teams and the East Coast People function

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting recruiting or sourcing
• Spanish fluency
