People Operations Lead

Responsibilities

• Build the HR function from the ground up and shape the employee experience end to end
• Own employee relations, guiding people and managers through sensitive life events and hard conversations
• Run the employee lifecycle including seamless onboarding, offboarding, and immigration coordination
• Support managers with enablement, feedback, development, and retention programs
• Maintain clear documentation and policies to ensure consistent and fair enforcement
• Operationalize performance cycles and support calibration processes
• Manage payroll inputs, benefits administration, and vendor partnerships using modern tooling and AI

Requirements

• 5+ years of People Operations or HR experience
• Proven experience in employee relations and handling sensitive situations
• High EQ and ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
• Strong operational rigor and ability to build processes from scratch
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Comfort with enforcing and disseminating company policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing performance cycles and facilitating calibration meetings
• Knowledge of compensation and leveling
• HRIS implementation experience
• Familiarity with immigration processes (H-1B, green cards, TN visas)
• Experience scaling a startup through rapid growth
• Proficiency in using AI tools to streamline HR workflows
