About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide People & Culture support to execute business decisions and implement core processes in Japan.
- Drive local deployment of P&C strategy and processes across various business units.
- Support managers with day-to-day P&C cycle activities and act as a second interaction point.
- Reflect changes in local processes, procedures, and policies according to CoE guidelines.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition for on-site activities and obtain necessary union/works council approvals.
- Deliver talent management workshops to upskill managers and support local development advice.
- Manage employee relations, advise managers on compliance, and handle cases end-to-end.
- Support organizational design, including implementing changes in local systems and managing transitions.
- Handle rewards and recognition tasks, including collective labor agreement negotiations and budget management.
- Promote continuous improvement through feedback loops and encourage the use of HR service systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a multinational company in Japan.
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese (native or equivalent) and English.
- Deep knowledge of Japanese labor law and employment regulations.
- Proven experience in HR service delivery, payroll management, and HR operations.
- Hands-on experience with Workday or equivalent HRIS platforms.
- Strong track record in managing employee relations and HR compliance matters.
