About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement human resource strategies aligned with hotel goals and brand mission
- Manage the Human Resource department budget and assist in annual budget development
- Conduct employee orientation, management training, and line employee training
- Coach managers on motivation, performance expectations, and conflict resolution
- Oversee administration of human resources, benefits, and adherence to employment laws
- Manage union issues and participate in contract negotiations
- Lead talent management through recruitment, development, and professional growth initiatives
- Drive employee engagement through departmental action plans
- Reinforce the "Yes I Can!" service culture to ensure guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of progressive human resources management experience
- Prior work experience in a union environment including negotiation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with hotel employees and managers
- Strong conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
