About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement human resource strategies aligned with hotel goals and brand mission
  • Manage the Human Resource department budget and assist in annual budget development
  • Conduct employee orientation, management training, and line employee training
  • Coach managers on motivation, performance expectations, and conflict resolution
  • Oversee administration of human resources, benefits, and adherence to employment laws
  • Manage union issues and participate in contract negotiations
  • Lead talent management through recruitment, development, and professional growth initiatives
  • Drive employee engagement through departmental action plans
  • Reinforce the "Yes I Can!" service culture to ensure guest satisfaction

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressive human resources management experience
  • Prior work experience in a union environment including negotiation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with hotel employees and managers
  • Strong conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
