People Business Partner Director, Engineering

Responsibilities

• Serve as a thought partner and advisor to the CTO and Engineering Managers, helping shape long-term organizational design and health
• Translate business and technical strategy into clear people and org implications
• Coach leaders on building high-performing teams, including hiring profiles, succession planning, and internal mobility
• Lead org design efforts including defining structure, driving communication plans, and owning execution
• Drive clarity around roles, scope, and leveling across Engineering
• Proactively scope and drive programs in partnership with Comp and Talent Management
• Experiment with and champion AI-powered approaches to people processes

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in People Business Partnering or related functions
• Significant experience supporting Engineering or technical organizations
• Proven experience partnering with C-level or senior executives (CTO, VP Eng)
• Demonstrated ability to lead org design and transformation in high-growth environments
• Strong track record of influencing senior leaders in ambiguous situations
• Deep understanding of engineering organization structure and scaling challenges
• Active interest in and experimentation with AI tools in HR contexts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting rapidly scaling fintech or product-led organizations
• Familiarity with technical org design challenges like platform vs. product teams
• Experience operating through major company inflection points such as hypergrowth or M&A
• Track record of deploying AI or automation in people workflows at scale
