People and Talent Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Own the full people function, managing day-to-day operations, recruiting coordination, payroll, and compliance
• Run payroll, contractor payments, and bonus cycles across the US and Canada
• Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding
• Administer benefits programs, including 401(k) and parental leave, while refining enrollment workflows
• Maintain and iterate on HR policies, employment contracts, and tax compliance
• Own the candidate experience and manage the ATS to ensure efficient hiring pipelines
• Coordinate recruiting logistics, manage agency relationships, and source candidates directly

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in people operations, HR, or business operations, ideally in a high-growth startup
• Proven experience running multi-jurisdiction payroll in both the US and Canada
• Proficiency with ATS and payroll tools (experience with Ashby is a plus)
• High attention to detail and discretion when handling sensitive information
• BA or higher in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field
• Strong communication skills regarding compensation and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting H-1B or other immigration processes
• Familiarity with Canadian employment law and ROE filings
• Interest in using AI tools to automate operational workflows and encode policies
• Experience working in fintech, AI, or early-stage startups
