Pensions Capital VP

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to manage the bank's capital position, including setting capital targets and monitoring adequacy.
• Optimize the bank's capital structure to support growth and profitability while managing regulatory capital requirements.
• Allocate capital to business units and projects based on risk-adjusted returns and financial metrics.
• Analyze the capital implications of pension obligations across UK and international regulated entities.
• Perform advanced risk modeling, including stress testing and VaR calculations for ICAAP.
• Prepare regular reports on capital position, allocation decisions, and stress testing results for senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Support trustee consultations, triennial valuations, and engagement with actuaries, investment managers, and auditors.

Requirements

• Experience in treasury, finance, markets/trading, market risk management, or pensions.
• Exposure to actuarial concepts and an understanding of capital frameworks.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• University degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of market risk methodologies such as VaR, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis.
• Familiarity with fixed income and other asset classes.
• Understanding of retail and wholesale banking business models and their capital implications.
• Experience managing capital impacts across multiple legal entities at a Group level.
• Progress toward or completion of a CFA, FRM, accounting, or actuarial qualification.
