Requirements
High school diploma, Lived experience with Mental Health or Substance Use, Human Services or Social Services diploma preferred, Two years experience in Mental Health or Substance Use preferred, Peer Support Certificate preferred
About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive, client-centered care within the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model
- Visit clients in the community to help maintain a safe environment and connect them with resources
- Advocate for clients to ensure access to necessary supports and educate families on their rights
- Facilitate social and recreational opportunities by helping plan, coordinate, and accompany clients to events
- Utilize lived experience to provide unique perspectives and knowledge to staff, students, and the community
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Lived experience with Mental Health challenges and/or Substance Use
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Human Services or Social Services diploma
- Two years of work experience in Mental Health and/or Substance Use
- Peer Support Certificate or specialized training
