Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model to demonstrate recovery and wellness principles to individuals served
  • Provide non-clinical recovery support to empower individuals to pursue health and wellness
  • Initiate contact with individuals and validate their experiences and feelings
  • Share personal recovery stories to inspire hope and motivate others
  • Assist individuals in setting goals and exploring future possibilities
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and services
  • Conduct outreach in various settings including homes, shelters, and community spaces

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Possession of a personal vehicle for community outreach
  • Ability to speak clearly and write proficiently
  • Ability to maintain focus despite frequent interruptions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing community-based services to adults with criminal justice, mental health, or addiction experience
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist
