Peer Support Mentor

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional, moral, and practical support to clients to assist with activities of daily living and social engagement.
• Facilitate participation in 12-step and Step-Work programs while modeling principles of recovery.
• Monitor client well-being through regular status checks and mental health check-ins.
• Administer prescribed medications and support follow-up on wellness concerns, including urinalysis as required.
• Maintain accurate client records, documentation of interactions, and reports of behavioral concerns.
• Ensure client confidentiality in accordance with FOIP legislation and uphold program rules and safety standards.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support recreational or therapeutic activities.

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of related experience.
• Certification in Mental Health First Aid.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Naloxone Training.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
