Pediatrics Clinical Affiliated Instructor

Responsibilities

• Supervise student groups (typically 6 students per group) during clinical rotations in pediatric nursing
• Provide instruction in clinical and clinical simulation labs
• Prepare students for clinical experiences by providing orientation to policies, procedures, and faculty requirements
• Develop patient care assignments that allow students to meet course objectives, including medication administration and skill mastery
• Conduct pre-conferences to establish priorities and post-conferences to facilitate student reflection
• Evaluate and grade student performance using weekly rubrics and prepare end-of-course summary evaluations
• Coordinate with clinical site clinicians to assign students to patients and maintain professional relationships with clinical sites
• Participate in faculty meetings and nursing program committees

Requirements

• Current MA RN license in good standing
• Minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Nursing or currently matriculated in a Master's in Nursing program
• Evidence of clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction
• Evidence of ongoing and progressive professional development in academic and professional communities

Preferred Qualifications

• A completed Master’s degree in Nursing
• Demonstrated experience in pediatric nursing practice and clinical instruction
