PE Teacher

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons aligned with curriculum standards and inquiry-based learning.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including English Language Learners and gifted students.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student well-being and collaboration.
• Assess student progress using varied, authentic methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and cohesive unit planning.
• Participate actively in the school’s co-curricular and community programmes to support holistic student development.
• Uphold GEMS Core Values of innovation, excellence, lifelong learning, and global citizenship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a subject-related degree in PE.
• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, PGDE, state teaching license, or equivalent).
• Proven experience teaching High School Physical Education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students (UK-enhanced DBS or equivalent police check required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching within an American curriculum context.
• Experience teaching within an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
