PE Coach

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare PE lessons, including dance and gymnastics, alongside extra-curricular sessions and enrichment activities
• Ensure all PE equipment is correctly set up, maintained, and stored
• Monitor student participation and progress, completing summative assessments for all classes taught
• Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful learning environment
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to the evaluation of provision maps
• Lead PE initiatives and organize resources linked to the curriculum team
• Promote the general progress and well-being of individual children and groups
• Communicate and consult with parents and external agencies regarding student development

Requirements

• Proven track record of successful PE teaching in mixed-ability primary age classes
• In-depth knowledge of the PE National Curriculum and ability to deliver it through sport
• Strong understanding of child development and how it impacts lesson planning
• Effective strategies for managing classroom behaviour in accordance with school policy
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Understanding of equal opportunity issues within a school setting
