About the role
Responsibilities
- Define manufacturing readiness requirements and lead key milestone reviews to ensure all stakeholder deliverables are complete
- Work with Design Engineering to identify and escalate manufacturing challenges early by enforcing DFM, DFA, and DFS principles
- Drive closure of all operational issues during pre-production builds
- Investigate failures in production, test, and integration to identify and mitigate root causes
- Deliver manufacturing process capabilities including equipment capability, quality controls, and workmanship standards
- Monitor product and process success through the production ramp
- Provide direction to contract manufacturing and suppliers to manage quarantine and rework activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in a PCB/PCBA fabrication facility
- 3+ years of supplier quality, manufacturing, or design experience
- Experience in board assembly processes and equipment (e.g., Stencil print, SPI, pick & place, reflow, AOI, ICT, x-ray inspection)
- Experience leading DFX reviews for manufacturability, testability, quality, and reliability
- Familiarity with IPC-610 standards
- Ability to work onsite in San Francisco 5 days a week
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of experience in PCBA/PCB supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering
- Experience with industry standard PLM and DFX systems (Mentor/Valor preferred)
- Experience performing Design and Process Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA/PFMEA)
- Experience with polymeric applications, including conformal coating, staking, and underfill
