About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and draft complex electronic PCB layouts and drawings for medical diagnostic instruments
  • Create footprints per supplier datasheets and IPC standards and maintain the eCAD Library
  • Perform layout for placement and circuitry routing to optimize electrical, EMI, thermal, and structural performance
  • Provide full documentation for fabrication and assembly
  • Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Component, and Supplier Engineering teams to determine optimum component placement
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers to manage data for bare board fabrication and component installation
  • Use 3rd party tools to perform Design Rule Checks and manage design rule constraints

Requirements

  • At least six months of relevant design and manufacturing experience related to medical devices
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate technologically complex devices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across multiple organizational levels
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in PCB Layout or a Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency with Cadence Concept HDL, Allegro, or Altium Designer
  • Understanding of IPC standards (ICB-7531, IPC-6011, IPC-6012)
  • Knowledge of Geometric Tolerances and ANSI Y14.5
  • Familiarity with PLM systems such as Siemens Team Center
