About the Company
GITAI is a space robotics company working to reduce the cost of work in space by 100x. The company develops robotic systems for orbital, lunar, and defense applications, including assembly, inspection, maintenance, and construction in environments where human labor is impractical.
Responsibilities
- Own PCB design for avionics hardware from early architecture through schematic, layout, fabrication, assembly, and test
- Design schematics and PCB layouts using Altium or similar ECAD tools
- Make board-level design trade-offs regarding electrical performance, manufacturability, reliability, and thermal behavior
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on packaging, mounting, and thermal paths
- Work with firmware and software engineers on interfaces, board bring-up, and debugging
- Apply DFM, DFA, and DFT principles and work with fabrication vendors
- Select components considering lifecycle risk, lead time, and thermal behavior
- Bring up and debug PCBAs using lab equipment and test fixtures
- Support integration, environmental testing, and failure investigations
- Maintain engineering documentation including BOMs and fabrication packages
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands-on PCB design experience using Altium or similar ECAD tools
- 1+ year of full-time experience at an early-stage hardware startup (Seed to Series B)
- Experience owning PCB designs from schematic capture through board bring-up and test
- Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly, and DFM/DFA/DFT
- Hands-on experience debugging PCBAs with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters
- Experience with mixed-signal, power, high-speed digital, or motor-control systems
- U.S. citizenship required for defense program support
