Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring P&L accuracy and the integrity of the bank's trading book.
• Reconcile daily profit and loss (P&L) figures and investigate discrepancies to reflect true economic value.
• Develop and maintain valuation methodologies for various financial instruments and implement appropriate models.
• Manage the valuation process for the bank’s trading portfolio and approve valuations performed by colleagues.
• Analyze market data to assess valuation inputs, assumptions, and potential valuation risks.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and support external audits to ensure trading activities are correctly reflected in financial statements.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate trading risks, reporting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Lead teams or collaborative assignments, providing coaching and guidance to ensure operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Proven experience in the development and maintenance of valuation methodologies for financial instruments.
• Strong expertise in financial instrument valuation and managing valuation processes for trading portfolios.
• Proficiency in market data analysis to assess valuation risks and assumptions.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and supporting financial statement preparation.
• Solid understanding of risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to traders, risk professionals, and senior management.
