Payroll & Systems Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of six responsible for monthly end-to-end payroll processing
• Oversee post-payroll activities including reconciliations, general ledger entries, and month-end reporting
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax, superannuation, and relevant legislation
• Manage payroll system administration, configuration, and optimisation
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies across payroll operations
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to direct reports
• Partner with finance and broader business stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and alignment

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of proven leadership experience managing payroll teams
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation and statutory obligations
• Solid knowledge of payroll accounting, including reconciliations and general ledger processes
• Highly system-savvy with experience managing or optimising payroll systems
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-volume environments
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
