Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply prevailing wage determinations based on project scope, classification, and jurisdiction
• Prepare, review, and submit weekly certified payroll reports (CPRs)
• Input and audit payroll data, job classifications, fringe benefits, and hours worked
• Track and communicate wage determination updates and rate changes
• Coordinate with project managers, operations teams and payroll team to resolve discrepancies
• Maintain documentation for audits and government compliance reviews
• Collect and maintain documentation supporting apprentice compliance
• Assist with other payroll and benefit tasks as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, HR, or related field preferred
• 3–5 years of experience in prevailing wage or certified payroll within construction preferred
• Knowledge of IRA tax credits, Davis-Bacon Act, and relevant state/local laws
• Proficiency in Paylocity and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Experience with certified payroll systems such as LCPtracker or Emars
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
