Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform the full spectrum of payroll functions, including processing new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefit payouts.
• Ensure all payroll processes are executed accurately and in compliance with Australian statutory regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with service providers and internal stakeholders to validate and reconcile payroll input/output files.
• Manage the payroll calendar to ensure all inputs are completed by established pay date deadlines.
• Assist with year-end activities, monthly government surveys, and internal or external audits.
• Respond to manager and employee queries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner.
• Stay updated on labor laws and regulations to maintain continuous compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a similar payroll role.
• Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in using HR, Payroll, and Time and Leave Management systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Payroll designation.
• Experience with Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, ADP Payroll, or Immedis.
