Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare accounting schedules, summaries, and reports
• Manage all payroll tax activities to ensure compliance with local and regional regulations
• File payroll tax returns and resolve any discrepancies
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including timekeeping, tax status, and pay changes
• Compute wages, overtime, deductions, and garnishments
• Process pay advances, terminations, and special pay types
• Perform periodic internal audits of payroll areas and prepare materials for internal and external audits
• Review and correct payroll system output to ensure balanced totals and proper ledger entries

Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on payroll experience
• Completed at least 2 years of college (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of ADP platforms (e.g., Celergo, Streamline, Globalview, WorkforceNow, Smart Compliance, or GLI)
• Experience with payroll processing and statutory compliance within the Middle East
• Proven experience with payroll systems implementation and payroll tax compliance
• Strong accounting and mathematical aptitude
• High attention to detail and ability to work onsite in Amman, Jordan

Preferred Qualifications

• FPC or CPP certification
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for complex system issues
