Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Execute timely and accurate production of Canadian payroll in accordance with established deadlines
• Ensure compliance of submitted timesheets and process all payroll-related entries and adjustments
• Validate gross pay calculations, including bonuses, termination payouts, and statutory holiday pay
• Manage accurate application of deductions such as garnishments, group insurance, and RRSP contributions
• Maintain data integrity between payroll and HR systems, including processing leaves and terminations
• Perform financial reconciliations, including General Ledger (GL) entries and government remittances
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly remittances to provincial workers’ compensation boards (CNESST and WCB)
• Support year-end processing, validation, and submission of reconciliation reports to government agencies

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar payroll role
• PCP Certification from the National Payroll Institute
• Bilingual proficiency (spoken and written) in English and French
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
