Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly payroll for FlixTrain GmbH in close collaboration with our external payroll provider
• Ensure all payroll-relevant data (entries, exits, contract changes, benefits, and absences) is submitted accurately and on time
• Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring high data quality and resolving account discrepancies with Accounting
• Act as a primary point of contact for employees, HR colleagues, and external partners regarding payroll inquiries
• Serve as a Process Expert to continuously improve payroll workflows and drive automation initiatives

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in preparatory payroll accounting, ideally within a blue-collar environment
• Deep knowledge of German wage tax and social security law, including experience with shift premiums (night, Sunday, holiday) and benefits
• Proficiency with HR and payroll systems such as DATEV, SAGE, or SAP
• Strong technical affinity and a passion for optimizing and automating digital processes
• Highly structured, reliable, and discreet working style with a high degree of autonomy
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both German and English
