About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process high-volume biweekly payroll, including monitoring wage payments, taxes, garnishments, and benefits
- Process and reconcile tax deposits and quarterly/yearly tax reporting, including W-2 filings
- Manage the payroll general ledger interface and prepare monthly payroll available ledger reports
- Record monthly payroll journal entries and research discrepancies
- Approve payroll adjustments and reconcile corresponding ledger accounts
- Review and process annual merit increases and bonuses
- Assist with payroll year-end, budget, audit, and GL requests
- Serve as the primary contact for timekeeping and payroll-related inquiries
- Develop and provide payroll-related training to employees and departments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of related payroll or accounting experience
- Strong/Advanced Excel skills (macros, MS queries, filters, advanced formulas, pivot tables)
- General financial/accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting standards
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and create reports
- High level of confidentiality and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work extended hours and meet tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HRIS systems
