Payroll Officer

Responsibilities

• Support and process accurate, compliant end-to-end fortnightly Australian payroll
• Maintain data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems
• Review time and attendance data, calculate overtime, and manage commissions and variable allowances
• Ensure correct Modern Award interpretations are applied to all earnings
• Complete PAYG and superannuation lodgements in alignment with ATO and statutory legislation
• Act as the first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and external agencies
• Assist in overseeing outsourced payroll operations for global regions
• Support the Payroll Lead with internal/external audits, year-end processing, and monthly reporting

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands-on Australian payroll processing experience
• Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, Superannuation Guarantee (SG), PAYG, and Modern Awards
• Proficiency in MS Excel, including basic formulas and data sorting
• Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and verbal)
• Exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy
• Strong interpersonal skills to resolve employee queries professionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Xero or Employment Hero
