Payroll Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full-cycle bi-weekly multi-state payroll process for 1,700+ employees
• Supervise, train, and support two payroll staff members
• Develop, document, and maintain payroll SOPs, internal controls, and system setup documents
• Oversee payroll reporting, audits, 401K/Roth contributions, benefit deductions, and garnishments
• Audit new hires, rehires, employee changes, terminations, and final payments
• Review and optimize payroll workflows and technology usage to improve efficiency
• Ensure compliance with changing payroll laws, tax regulations, and industry best practices
• Manage access to state employment portals and oversee secure payroll system permissions

Requirements

• 10+ years of payroll processing experience in a mid-to-large sized multi-state environment preferred
• 5+ years of experience in payroll and people supervision
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• Advanced knowledge of ADP Workforce Now and ADP Time and Attendance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
