Payroll Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the payroll team by supervising daily operations, coaching members, and fostering accountability.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations across multiple entities.
• Own payroll systems and controls, including designing processes, validating accuracy, and ensuring proper general ledger posting.
• Drive process improvement by partnering with HR, Accounting, and IT to automate and streamline workflows within Workday.
• Manage critical deliverables such as year-end W-2 issuance, payroll schedules, and management reporting.
• Support the business through effective communication with employees and leaders at all levels.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting (Accounting strongly preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on payroll experience, specifically including Workday HCM, Time Tracking, and Payroll.
• Proven experience processing payroll for a large, multi-state employer.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, compliance requirements, and accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
• Experience with Oracle General Ledger.
• Background working in agriculture or manufacturing environments.
