Payroll Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and processing biweekly and monthly payroll runs for Mexico City employees
• Collect and verify employee data changes including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments
• Cross-check payroll inputs against HR records to ensure accuracy before each run
• Prepare payroll summaries and reconciliation reports for Finance review
• Maintain organized payroll records and documentation in compliance with local regulations
• Audit payroll data for discrepancies and escalate issues to the appropriate team member
• Support documentation for tax filings and social security contributions (IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR)
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve payroll queries from employees

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Based in Mexico City and available to work on-site
• Full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and data
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship or coursework in payroll, accounting, or HR administration
• Familiarity with Mexican payroll regulations (IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR)
• Experience with HRIS or payroll software such as SAP, Workday, or ADP
• Interest in fintech or financial services
