About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll for 800+ employees
  • Support payroll operations related to employee compensation, including bonuses
  • Maintain all payroll information and records in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Deliver out-of-cycle or ad hoc payments and facilitate manual checks or wire transfers
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on unemployment, worker’s compensation, and leave requests
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and process bi-weekly adjustments
  • Review time-sheets and reconcile bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports
  • Support the annual delivery of Form W-2s and 1099s
  • Update systems to reflect current employee base, wages, and leave balances
  • Develop and document payroll procedures to ensure efficiency
  • Assist in internal and external audits and oversee compliance with statutory reporting
  • Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with 2 years of multi-state payroll experience
  • OR Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with 3 years of multi-state payroll experience
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll calculation and processing
  • Familiarity with payroll software
  • Full knowledge of Federal, State, and local labor laws and tax requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience migrating payroll from one system to another
  • Experience in a professional services or consulting environment
  • Familiarity with the accounting side of payroll (journal entries, reconciliations)
  • Experience implementing new payroll systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 accounting software
