Payroll Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Payroll with monthly payroll cycles, including commissions and bonuses
• Collaborate with outsourced vendors to process payroll for employees across Australia and the US
• Administer and maintain payroll systems including Rippling, ADP, and Deel
• Manage Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements through Deel to ensure timely payments
• Support the processing of terminations and ensure compliance with superannuation obligations
• Reconcile annual PAYG reports to ATO Single Touch Payroll (STP) and perform end-of-month reconciliations
• Maintain accurate employee personal and payroll records and generate leave balance reports
• Manage compliance filings with government agencies regarding taxes, contributions, and benefits
• Serve as the primary point of contact for ad-hoc payroll queries from employees and managers
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes to improve efficiency

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
• 2–3 years of payroll processing experience, specifically with Australian payroll
• Familiarity with interpreting Modern Awards and payroll-related legislation
• Experience using payroll platforms such as Rippling, ADP, or Deel
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and occasionally outside core hours to support global cycles

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to multi-country payroll management
• Experience working with Employer of Record (EOR) platforms
• Understanding of workers’ compensation processes
• A process improvement mindset focused on enhancing workflows
