Payroll Clerk

Responsibilities

• Enter, maintain, and process information within the payroll system
• Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are accurate and meet processing deadlines
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate all entries
• Oversee payroll garnishments and change in withholding requests
• Maintain records for paid leave and holidays
• Assist with accurate and timely monthly and year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c)
• Compute and process manual or off-cycle check requests
• Analyze and coordinate financial data and report it in an understandable manner
• Maintain organized files with appropriate supporting documentation

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of ledgers, journal entries, and general accounting principles
• Experience using accounting software
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., basic formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret large data sets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• Experience with Xero accounting software
