Payroll Clerk

Responsibilities

• Manage local payroll activities for approximately 1,000 personnel
• Maintain and update employee records within the payroll system
• Coordinate accounting matters with timekeeping and personnel departments
• Supervise direct reports within the Payroll Team and assist with month-end consolidation
• Audit payrolls to ensure compliance with legislation, awards, and internal reporting requirements
• Assist program personnel with travel arrangements
• Process, track, and follow up on all expense report submissions
• Audit account and charge code designations and facilitate cost reclassifications
• Utilize Microsoft Office products daily for reporting and communication

Requirements

• Turkish Citizenship
• English proficiency (Level 3)
• Associate Degree (AS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (relevant work experience may be substituted)
• In-depth familiarity with computerized accounting and payroll systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to pass a medical physical and a Turkish Security background check
• Completion of military service (for male candidates)

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years of experience in the accounting or payroll field
• Experience with AS 400 systems
• Information Assurance training
