Payroll and Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle multi-state U.S. payroll processing, including weekly hourly and semi-monthly salaried runs
• Maintain payroll data in ADP Workforce Now, including tax elections, deductions, garnishments, and benefits
• Conduct regular pre- and post-payroll audits to resolve discrepancies in earnings, deductions, and tax calculations
• Perform payroll reconciliations, comparing payroll registers to general ledger accounts and funding reports
• Prepare and process recurring payroll funding files, salary vouchers, and payroll postings into ERP systems
• Manage payroll tax compliance, agency correspondence, and year-end tasks such as W-2 preparation
• Generate standard and ad-hoc payroll reports for Accounting, Finance, and HR leadership
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay discrepancies, deductions, and tax questions
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to payroll expense reporting

Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll processing and/or payroll accounting experience in a U.S. corporate environment
• Proven experience supporting multi-state payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees
• Hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable payroll system
• 3+ years of experience in general accounting or finance (knowledge of debits, credits, and General Ledger)
• Direct experience with payroll funding and uploading salary vouchers into an ERP system
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency with Pivot tables and VLookups
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP ERP or other large-scale enterprise systems
• Experience using SuccessFactors for talent management and HRIS functions
