About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the Payroll Manager in the effective running of the UK payroll
- Act as a technical point of contact for SAP issues and new requests across UK Payroll entities
- Process UK SAP payroll to ensure accurate remuneration and meet contractual obligations
- Coordinate with Payroll Specialists to ensure all SAP Payroll inputs are loaded prior to processing
- Ensure payroll activity is properly posted into SAP GL in a timely manner
- Resolve payroll-related queries from employees and legal entity stakeholders professionally
- Perform manual calculations for part-month and back-dated payments
- Calculate and pay statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP) in line with HMRC regulations
- Analyse variance reports and provide reasoning for variances above set material limits
Requirements
- Experienced payroll professional with a thorough understanding of payroll journals and financial feeds
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation
- Proven experience working within an in-house payroll environment
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical and numeracy skills
- Ability to build solid relationships with stakeholders and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with internal or external audits
- General understanding of Workday
- Part payroll qualification is preferred but not essential
