Payroll Analyst

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax activities
• Produce annual T4 and RL-1 tax slips and manage year-end processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts related to payroll taxes
• Manage worker's compensation accounts, including rates and annual filings
• Process and remit weekly, monthly, and quarterly tax payments
• Research and resolve notices, penalties, and interest from tax authorities
• Prepare monthly accounting entries and manage wage garnishments
• Provide professional customer service to internal and external departments

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, payroll tax, or payroll processing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with a high sense of urgency and autonomy

Preferred Qualifications

• PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) certification
• Deep knowledge of Canadian payroll taxation
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• Previous experience with SAP, ADP tax services, or Equifax
• Fluency in French (written and spoken) and functional English
