Payments Product Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the definition, architecture, and roadmap for payment infrastructure products, specifically focusing on SPEI and international flows including SWIFT.
• Coordinate with multifunctional teams such as engineering, operations, risk, treasury, and compliance to design and implement payment solutions.
• Ensure strict compliance with Banco de México regulations regarding SPEI and other payment systems to mitigate operational risks.
• Manage technical documentation and process specifications for the SPEI system to ensure audit readiness and institutional knowledge.
• Monitor key performance indicators including system availability, response times, and failure rates to drive continuous improvement.
• Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements for development teams.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including providers and regulatory authorities, to align expectations and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Technical Project Manager within the banking, fintech, or payments industry.
• Direct professional exposure to SPEI/SPID and interbank payment systems.
• Technical experience working with development teams on payment APIs, core banking integrations, and financial messaging.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
• Strong understanding of the payment transaction lifecycle and operational continuity strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree or relevant professional certifications.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 and SWIFT messaging formats (MT/MX).
• Experience with RESTful API specification design and SQL/NoSQL data models.
• Familiarity with emerging fintech trends such as Open Banking, stablecoins, and cross-border payments.
