Responsibilities

• Automate payout orchestration to eliminate manual scripts
• Build an immutable, auditable operational ledger
• Design settlement ingestion and reconciliation pipelines
• Improve observability across payout, processor, and bank flows
• Eliminate recurring payment bugs at the root cause
• Reduce manual treasury overhead
• Abstract processor dependencies to prevent vendor lock-in
• Implement reliability engineering for distributed payment systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building scalable backend systems
• 3+ years of industry experience in backend or platform engineering
• Experience with third-party payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Adyen) or banking APIs
• Understanding of financial regulations and PCI-DSS compliance
• Proficiency with transactional databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with compiled languages such as Go, Rust, or C++
• Experience with message queues or streaming platforms (e.g., RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka)
• Experience with distributed systems frameworks like Temporal or Kubernetes
• Ability to work in-person five days a week in San Francisco, NYC, or London
