Payment Operations Manager

About the Company

Cardless is building a credit card and loyalty platform that consumer businesses use to engage their customers. They have launched 14 credit cards for partners including Coinbase, Alibaba, and Qatar Airways, pioneering technology to embed credit card features natively into products.

Responsibilities

• Scale and operate the infrastructure behind card programs
• Manage external partners including processors, issuing banks, and networks
• Automate card lifecycle workflows by designing smarter solutions and partnering with Engineering
• Build processes and systems to handle growing complexity and volume
• Analyze tickets to uncover root causes and drive permanent fixes
• Operationalize network mandates and coordinate implementation across teams
• Support BPO and back-office operations strategy through SOPs and audit frameworks
• Build internal ops dashboards for real-time visibility into card production and processor health
• Leverage AI to design and evolve processes and tooling to eliminate manual work

Requirements

• 5+ years in payment or card operations (issuer, processor, or fintech)
• Experience with card processors, reconciliation, and network file formats (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
• Strong SQL skills and ability to use data to diagnose issues
• Experience building or improving operational tooling and automation
• Knowledge of network mandates, BINs, and card lifecycle operations
• Clear communication skills across cross-functional teams
• Ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
