Payment Operations Intern

Responsibilities

• Monitor and reconcile daily payment transactions to ensure accuracy
• Investigate discrepancies between expected and actual transaction flows
• Track settlement timing across various payment processors including Stripe, ACH, and wire transfers
• Triage customer payment issues such as failed charges, reversals, and refunds
• Pull and analyze transaction data to identify trends, anomalies, or bottlenecks
• Build simple dashboards and reports to track key payment metrics
• Support fraud detection efforts and chargeback investigations
• Assist with compliance and audit preparation for standards such as PCI DSS and SOC 2
• Document operational procedures and create runbooks for common scenarios

Requirements

• Strong interest in payment operations and financial technology
• Proficiency in data analysis and working with transaction data
• Ability to investigate complex discrepancies and identify root causes
• Familiarity with payment processing workflows and settlement cycles
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and reconciliation
• Basic understanding of fraud detection and chargeback processes
