Payload Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee and contribute to payload mechanical, structural, and materials requirements and integration
• Collaborate with integration and test engineers, program leadership, and customers to define vehicle payload activities
• Develop and track technical requirements to ensure customer needs are met
• Participate in test planning, Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), test execution, and post-test data reviews
• Architect and optimize data review methodologies and analysis tools
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary internal teams and external customers

Requirements

• Experience in Systems Engineering and technical experience in Mechanical, Structural, or Materials Engineering
• Experience contributing to major technical reviews such as PDR or CDR
• Proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
• Familiarity with requirement management systems (e.g., Jama, Cameo, DOORS) and configuration management tools (e.g., Jira)
• Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with air-launched hypersonic vehicle development
• Experience defining and verifying requirements for hypersonic vehicles with hot-structure airframes
• Experience working in small, dynamic engineering teams
• Programming experience in Matlab or Python
• Current DOD Secret security clearance
