About the role

Responsibilities

  • Meet performance goals regarding patient satisfaction, accuracy, quality, and attendance
  • Act as a patient advocate by exchanging complex and sensitive information with internal and external customers
  • Utilize Optum systems to resolve inquiries related to appointments, authorizations, claims, eligibility, and benefits
  • Multi-task using dual monitors for data entry and phone etiquette while maintaining strict guidelines
  • Translate oral information into concise and accurate written documentation
  • Assist members with choosing Primary Care Providers (PCP) and provide general medical group information
  • Recognize and follow procedures for financial, medical, and legal risks identified during interactions

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service-based role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and navigating multiple chat channels in Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to type at a speed of 40+ WPM
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Must reside within Eastern, Central, or Mountain Time Zones

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • 1+ years of experience in a call center environment
  • Experience working in a virtual or remote environment
  • Experience managing multiple computer screens while assisting customers
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
