Patient Support Assistant

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming telephone calls from patients, physicians, and other departments following customer service standards
• Document telephone encounters within the Epic system
• Utilize Epic to schedule and register new, established, and post-procedure patients
• Obtain prior authorizations for medical procedures
• Review provider templates to ensure efficient scheduling
• Provide administrative support as directed by Physicians and the Practice Manager

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience
• 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or customer service position
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
• Flexibility and the ability to take initiative

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program
• Previous experience using Epic electronic health record software
