About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a positive and patient-centric customer service experience.
  • Interview and accurately register new patients in the clinic information system.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, including rescheduling and cancellations.
  • Enter and update patient demographics, insurance, and scheduling records to ensure accurate electronic health records.
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance coverage.
  • Collect patient fees and verify methods of payment.
  • Provide general triage related to the urgency of oral health care needs.
  • Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, emailing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality regarding all patient records and interactions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to accurately collect patient fees and perform simple math for change and payment recording.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with patients, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to learn and use patient management/electronic health record systems and office equipment.
