Patient Services Representative

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients upon arrival, collecting demographics, referrals, insurance, and billing information
• Perform pre-admission, registration, discharge, and transfer processes
• Verify insurance coverage and perform pre- and post-billing functions
• Assist patients with financial and billing inquiries and perform collection functions
• Respond to patient inquiries in-person and via written correspondence
• Resolve patient questions or complaints and escalate concerns when necessary
• Prepare departmental correspondence, including clinic consultation notes and referral letters
• Answer incoming calls and assist with general clerical duties

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to accurately and efficiently enter alphanumeric data
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Proficiency in using personal computers and software applications, specifically Epic
• Successful completion of competencies related to Cadence Scheduling and Point of Service Collection policy

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior experience in a medical practice setting with knowledge of insurance protocols
• Previous experience in an Oncology setting
