Patient Services Intermediate

Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate level customer service and clerical support to patients in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Verify patient information, including demographics, medical history, and insurance coverage.
• Facilitate business processes such as appointment scheduling, check-in/check-out, and telephone triage.
• Coordinate appointments using Epic (MiChart), including explaining preparation requirements and gathering documentation.
• Serve as a primary point of contact between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
• Manage daily clinic tasks including file preparation, reminder calls, referral tracking, and in-basket messages.
• Collect patient payments, including cash and credit cards, and provide receipts.

Requirements

• 3 or more years of customer service experience within a medical environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
• Proficiency with Epic/MiChart electronic health record system.
