About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between clients, referring veterinarians, the public, and hospital personnel
  • Communicate regarding hospitalized patients, follow-up care, diagnostics, treatment plans, cost estimates, and hospital policies
  • Coordinate interdepartmental service consultations and case transfers as directed by clinicians
  • Assist with scheduling, patient flow coordination, and daily operational support within assigned specialty services
  • Provide cross-training and backup support to other Patient Services Coordinators to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Support the orientation of new interns, residents, students, and staff with clerical procedures and materials

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Three years of general office experience OR two years of office or customer service experience in a healthcare setting (or equivalent education/experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic or setting
  • Experience providing coordination and support activities to clients and clinicians
  • Proficiency with medical terminology
  • Experience reading and scanning medical records for key information
  • Strong ability to multi-task and adjust to changing workflows
