About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and courteous support to patients, doctors, and technologists
- Answer phone calls, emails, and provide in-person assistance
- Contact external facilities to obtain imaging for emergency and inpatient cases
- Upload external imaging studies into Sectra accurately
- Communicate with ER physicians regarding outside imaging requests
- Monitor OnBase for incoming release of information forms and Patient Portal requests
- Create and mail CDs or send imaging electronically to external hospitals
- Assist in training new employees and maintaining the customer service area
- Assign MRI and CT Neuro cases as required
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow enhancement
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of direct customer service experience (face-to-face or phone-based)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Availability to work holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of MiChart, Medicom, or Sectra
- Experience in a healthcare or radiology environment
- Understanding of radiology workflows and imaging systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams
