About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide support and coordination of divisional patient care services, including appointment scheduling, check-in, and check-out.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify patient demographic details, medical history, and insurance coverage.
- Serve as a primary point of contact between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
- Communicate appointment changes, test results, or instructions to patients clearly and promptly.
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks such as preparing patient files and arranging follow-up services.
- Collect patient payments via cash or credit card according to established guidelines.
- Monitor waiting area activity to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Coordinate with nursing and medical assistant staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a direct customer service setting (face-to-face or over the phone).
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of MiChart (Cadence, EpicCare, and Radiant).
- Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
