About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and coordination of divisional patient care services, including appointment scheduling, check-in, and check-out.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Verify patient demographic details, medical history, and insurance coverage.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
  • Communicate appointment changes, test results, or instructions to patients clearly and promptly.
  • Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks such as preparing patient files and arranging follow-up services.
  • Collect patient payments via cash or credit card according to established guidelines.
  • Monitor waiting area activity to ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment.
  • Coordinate with nursing and medical assistant staff to ensure efficient patient flow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a direct customer service setting (face-to-face or over the phone).
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of MiChart (Cadence, EpicCare, and Radiant).
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
