About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients professionally in person and over the phone
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and patient demographic information
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using EMR systems
- Collect copays, coinsurance, and outstanding patient balances
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage documentation within the EMR
- Support clinic flow by coordinating communication between providers and patients
- Assist patients with inquiries regarding billing, referrals, and treatments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of customer service experience
- Experience in a medical front desk, healthcare scheduling, or outpatient clinic setting
- Proficiency with insurance verification and EMR scheduling tools
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced medical environment
- Professional demeanor with the ability to de-escalate patient concerns
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Prior experience in specialty clinics, urgent care, or dental offices
- Experience with payment collection and patient registration
